Manchester City's manager Manuel Pellegrini has insisted that Kelechi Iheanacho in not a striker.

Pellegrini made this known in his interview with Manchester Evening News when he explained reasons why he didn’t bring on Iheanacho for injured Wilfried Bony against Aston Villa at the Villa Park on Sunday.
Bony limped off after 25 minutes to leave Manchester City without a recognised centre forward and Pellegrini opted to replace the Ivorian international with Jesus Navas, than the fast rising Iheanacho who eventually came on as an 84th minute substitute for Raheem Sterling.
“It could be another option, but I think that Jesus was important also to play for the right wing," Pellegrini told the Manchester Evening News.
“Maybe if we scored the goal we are talking about it being the correct option, but after that you never know if Kelechi can change the game.
“But he’s not a striker. Normally he plays behind the striker.”
Iheanacho who has been called up for Nigeria's 2018 World Cup qualifier has made eight appearances and scored once for the current league leaders.
