Buhari is alive -Presidency

President Buhari
Nigerians have been advised to ignore rumours that President Muhammadu Buhari has passed on. Presidential spokesmen, Femi Adesina, who is Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, and Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant also on Media to the president, took to their their twitter handles yesterday, saying that nothing unpleasant has happened to the President.

Adesina would wonder: “Why do some people rage and imagine vain things?” He added: “It is the counsel of God that shall stand.

May God bless all those praying for PMB.” According to Shehu, there is no cause for alarm. He called on Nigerians to disregard any messages on Facebook and WhatsApp regarding the unrealistic information about the President. He said: “No cause for apprehension. Thanks for the many calls.

“If you have received this information on WhatsApp or Facebook, disregard it because it is plain lies spread by vested interests to create panic. “Baseless rumours are trending again that an unpleasant thing has happened to our beloved President, Muhammadu Buhari.”

Buhari left Nigeria Sunday Night, last week, for the United Kingdom (UK) for another round of medical check-up after transmitting letters to both arms of the National Assembly, informing that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, would be acting in his absence.

The letter also revealed that the length of the president's stay in London would be determined by his doctors.

By this development, the President was making his second medical trip to London this year.

President Buhari had on January 19 travelled to the UK for medical check-up and returned to the country on March 10. There has been no official information from the presidency about the President since he left the country.
