Oyegun

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odigie-Oyegun,  has urged APC governors to emulate the Zamfara state government in the  execution  of developmental projects.
Odigie-Oyegun made the call on Saturday while inaugurating semi-urban water scheme projects in Dauran and Kanwa communities of Zurmi Local Government Areas of the state.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on other APC governors to emulate Zamfara state government in providing social amenities to citizens,” he said
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was part of activities to mark the sixth anniversary of Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari’s administration in the state.
According to Odigie-Oyegun, what Zamfara state government was doing to transform rural communities deserved commendation.
Said he: “Apart from semi-urban water scheme projects in Dauran and Kanwa communities and hospital projects in Moriki town we are commissioning today, I have seen good roads and large hectares of arable land, with people cultivating rice and other crops.
“I must commend governor Yari for executing these projects, considering how they will touch the lives of people at the grassroots.
“What I have seen today is the demonstration of the manifesto of our great party, the APC,” he said
According to him, the APC means good for Nigerians, adding, “These projects executed by Governor Yari showed that the APC leadership in the country is making progress in its mission to move the country forward.
“These projects would assist the federal government policy of reviving the agricultural sector and rural development.
“Majority of our people in rural communities are farmers and these projects will assist them to stay in their communities to participate actively in farming activities.
“I am highly impressed with what I have seen today and I believe that with these projects the strength of our great party will remain here in Zamfara.”
The party chairman urged Nigerians to support the present administration in the country led by President Muhammadu Buhari in order to take Nigeria to greater heights.
In his remarks, Yari said the two water projects were executed at the cost of N628 million as part of his administration’s policy to improve potable water supply in the state.
He said the projects were among the 84 Solar Motorised Boreholes and Semi Urban Water Schemes executed across the 14 local government areas of the state.
NAN reports that the APC national chairman also inaugurated a new general hospital in Moriki town in the state.
