A university don, Prof. Kimse Okoko has commended Governor Henry Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State for his active role in pushing forward the cause for the Ijaw nation, describing him as a true patriot.

The erudite professor of Political Science made the commendation during an interaction with journalists shortly after the inauguration of members of the ‎Ijaw National Reconciliation committee.

Okoko, who is also a member of the committee observed that as the fourth largest ethnic nationality in the country, the Ijaw Nation needs to take its pride of place and Governor Dickson is ably leading the way.

The former president of the Ijaw National Congress (INC) maintained that his intervention in setting up the committee is timely and assured the governor that he and other members will work assiduously to resolve the crisis bedeviling the Ijaw nation, particularly the INC.

"We thank him immensely for the initiative because we need it. I think we have been too silent for a long time. Governor Dickson, no doubt, like I have always said, is a true patriot in the Ijaw nation," he said.
