Chairman, National Conscience Party (NCP), Dr. Yunisa Tanko, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to address agitations for structuring of the country, now that he has returned to the country.
Tanko told newsmen on Monday in Abuja that though the president had preached unity in his broadcast, action should be taken on the agitations.
He said that Nigerians prayed for good health for the president, adding that “now that God has answered the prayer, he should address serious issues affecting the unity of the country’’.
“Buhari, in his statement, was talking about the unity and security of the country, which are some of the things he said when he was campaigning for election.
“I think it is no more time for words; it is time for action.
“Nigerians have shown love, they have prayed for Buhari and welcomed him in large number.
“It is now payback time for Nigerians. People are talking about hunger, economy, security and unity of the country which is paramount.
“We are yet to see the decisive action taken as regards to Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Arewa Youths Forum statements, with many Nigerians thinking of moving from one part of the country to another.
“There must be a strong position that will give Nigeria hope. I think that the president has the capacity to do so now, not latter.” Tanko said.
He said that he was one of the happiest Nigerians over Buhari return, adding that the rumours about his health situation had been completely dispelled.
On his part, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Federal Government should hasten to address unemployment, especially among the youth.
According to Nwosu, unemployment is one of the major signals for various agitations that Buhari needs to address.
“If between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. over 80 per cent of Nigerian are preparing to go to work, any agitator will not have a crowd to mobilise or call,” he said.
