Scores have been reported killed as gunmen this morning attacked a Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state.
Details of the incident is still sketchy but Newsmart learnt that the state governor, Willie Obiano, has rushed to area to ascertan things for himself.
Eye witness account has it that a group of gun-trothing men stormed the Church during the early morning mass today, shooting sporadically.
Some worshippers were said to have died on the spot, while others died on their way to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, where they were being rushed to.
The governor has assured immediate investigation into the incident.
Information also reaching us has it that men of the Nigerian Police Force are at the scence of the incident at the time of filing this report.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the tragic incident.
