Exactly 86 days after the death of Jide Tinubu, son of former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the cold hand of death has struck the family once again, snatching Deji Tinubu, former Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission.
Deji, a versatile football lover and analyst on the now defunct HiTV, reportedly passed on Thursday evening as he was being rushed to the hospital, after collapsing, whilst watching a football game.
Sources, said the former Special Adviser on Sports to Lagos State Governor slumped during a football game and died in an attempt to rush him down to the hospital for prompt medical attention.
Tinubu, who’s a nephew of former Lagos State Governor and national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was a seasoned administrator in the Nigerian football scene with many years of experience.
He was once a member of the Nigeria Football Federation and has been instrumental to the rebirth of football in Lagos State.
Tinubu’s loss will leave a big hole in football and sports generally in Lagos State as his experience and understanding of it is great and has been of great benefit to Nigeria and Lagos State especially.
