The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is shocked by reports that 94 Nigerian female students have been declared missing after insurgents attacked the Girls Secondary School, Dapchi, Yobe state on Tuesday.
"Indeed, we are very disturbed by this ugly development, especially given the conflicting reports on the whereabouts of these innocent girls." the opposition party said in a press statement signed by its national publicity secretary," Kola Ologbondiyan.
The party restated that the life, safety and well being of all Nigerians remain of paramount importance, and we therefore insists that all efforts must be exerted to find the said missing students.
The PDP, which said it is monitoring development on the position of the Nigeria Police investigation on the matter, however charged the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to immediately put all machinery in place to unravel the disturbing situation and recover the missing children.
The opposition PDP also urged the All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled federal government to live up to its basic responsibility of protecting lives and property in our country.
