Unidentified persons on Wednesday invaded the Senate Chambers, disrupting ongoing proceedings and in the process, made away with the Mace, symbol of authority of the Senate.
With the development, proceedings were halted.
Reports allege the unidentified men are supporters of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who was suspended last week.
Meanwhile, there is heightened security at the National Assembly and the Senate has gone into a closed-door session.
