Hope rises for Nigeria, beat Iceland 2:0

It's Nigeria's day in Volgograd, as the Super Eagles in their second group match, beat Iceland 2:0 to nurse any hope of remaining in the World Cup taking place in Russia.

The Nigerian side had last Saturday, suffered a 2:0 defeat by Croatia.

With the win over Iceland, Nigeria will need at least a draw against Argentina in their final group match to proceed to the next round of the tournament.

On their part, Argentina which had a draw with Iceland in their first group match, suffered a 3:0 defeat against Croatia in their second game.

Today's win by Nigeria over Iceland marks their fifth in World Cup history, and all against European countries.
