Lawyer and former President of Aka Ikenga, a Pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, has described the Not too young to run bill signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, May 31, 2018 as all motion and no movement.
Chief Uwazurike who is puzzled as to the hysteria trailing the assenting of the bill into law, said the act may just be a humorous law that is

This, according to him, is because the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria clearly states the age qualifications for the offices of the president, governors, Senators, members of the House of Representatives, State assemblies, among others.
Section 106 (b) of the constitution, for example, states that 'HE HAS ATTAINED THE AGE OF 30' while Section 131(b) states that a presidential candidate shall be at least 40 years, Uwazurike said.
He therefore argues that a mere act cannot amend the constitution, stressing that the only remedy is amendment of the Constitution.
Said he: "The only remedy is the amendment of the Constitution. As a matter of fact, any law that is inconsistent with the constitution is null and void to the extent of the inconsistency."
Uwazurike who explained that the constitution is the Supreme law and all laws, whether existing or new, must align with it, is however puzzled as to the hysteria trailing the exercise when 'it is only all motion and no movement.'
