Day after meeting with APC govs, Buhari meets with Service Chiefs

A day after President Muhammadu Buhari met with governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following mass defection of prominent members of the ruling APC, the president is currently meeting with service chiefs at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting also comes a day ahead of another planed trip to London by the president, said to be a holiday by his spokesperson and which keen political watchers believe to be yet another medical trip.

A press statement, August 1, 2017 by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, said President Muhammadu Buhari would begin a 10 working days holiday from August 3, 2018.

The statement reads: "In compliance with Section 145 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, a letter has been transmitted to the President of the Senate, and the Speaker, House of Representatives to that effect.

"While the President is on vacation, the Vice President will be in acting capacity as President.
President Buhari will be in London for the holiday."

Meanwhile, details of the meeting with the service chiefs is will be relayed here as soon as it is made public.
