Eid-El-Kabir: Secondus asks Muslims to pray for a rescuer in 2019

Uche Secondus
National chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has asked Muslims to use the Sallah celebrations to pray for Nigeria.

“The suffering of Nigerians in the past three and half years by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration should be enough mitigation to plead to God to send a rescuer in 2019 to save them from further pains,” Secondus said in a statement by his spokesman, Ike Abonyi.

In wishing all Nigerians joyful and peaceful Sallah celebrations, the PDP national chairman asked Nigerians to offer special prayers for the unity and stability of the nation as well as recommit their individual, collective security and economic welfare into the hands of God.

In a report of Channels television, Secondus noted that the special prayers have become very necessary as the nation is in dire need of divine intervention.

“There is no dispute to the fact that Nigerians did not bargain for what they are getting in the hands of APC but the beauty of democracy is that it provides the people with an opportunity to make changes and this they must ask Allah to guide them accordingly,” he said.

“It is a statement of fact that this is one of the most gloomiest Sallah in our country and so it has been since APC administration came into power

“We have all witnessed the unfortunate turn of events in our country since 2015, particularly the sudden decline in the economy, rising dictatorship, political tension, and general insecurity in the land.”

Secondus, however, called on the people not to allow the challenges they face in the country make them lose their dignity and make them miss the essence and meaning of Eid-el-Kabir and the divine succour it brings, especially in assuring that there is always an end to every negative situation.

He called on all Nigerians to use the Sallah festivities to reflect on those things that bind us together as a nation; show love to one another and commit the nation into Gods’ hands to make INEC conduct a free, fair and transparent election in 2019.
