Coronavirus: FCT Minister, Ramatu Aliyu, awaits test result

I have just given my samples to test for coronavirus, says Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Aliyu.

She disclosed that she was in contact with persons who tested positive for the virus and that necessitated her action.

According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control on Wednesday, there are eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Abuja of the 46 cases in the country.

These cases include Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who tested positive on Tuesday.

Persons including Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who came in contact with the confirmed cases in Abuja, have since self-isolate.

Aliyu, who made her revelation on Twitter on Wednesday, said though she felt well, she has since gone into self-isolation while she awaited the result of the test.

In self isolation, I am busy working and liasing with the 6 Area Council Chairmen in the Territory on prevention &sensitisation of people in the area Council& satellite towns.

At the same time actively playing my role in the Presidential Taskforce on #COVID19 representing FCT.
