Victor Giadom gets court's approval to act as APC national chairman

Giadom

A Federal High Court, on Monday, approved Chief Victor Giadom as acting National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The decision of the court was coming barely 24 hours to the key emergency meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party this Tuesday in Abuja, and almost at the same time the Court of Appeal in Abuja suspended hearing of an appeal by the embattled chairman against the judgement of a Federal High Court suspending him as national chairman of the APC.

Giadom, the party’s Deputy National Secretary, being the highest ranking official, had been leading the party since the High Court in the FCT ordered embattled national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, to vacate office as National Chairman following his suspension by the party in Edo State, his home state.

It had been rumoured that President Muhammadu Buhari had withdrawn his support for Oshiomhole and tacitly encouraged his ouster following his poor management of party affairs.

The Court of Appeal, on Monday, had said a panel of justices would be re-constituted to hear Oshiomhole’s appeal of the order removing him from office.
