We should do Jerusalema dance after the case against #EndSars protests --Aisha Yesufu

Leading member of the #BringBackOurGirls campaigner Aisha Yesufu, has reacted, albeit mockingly, to the criminal complaint filed by one self-acclaimed human rights activist, Kenechukwu Okeke, against her and some 49 other persons for their roles in the #EndSARS protests that took place nationwide in October

Okeke had on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, sued the 50 persons before a Chief Magistrate Court in Abuja, asking that they (defendants) who said  promoted the protests, be brought to justice for allegedly destroying his properties.

Those sued alongside Yesufu, include former Super Eagles Star, Kanu Nwankwo, musicians Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Davido and the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi.

Other defendants listed in the suit are musician, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz and comedians, Debo Adebayo fondly addressed as Mr. Macaroni and Maryam Akpaokagi also known as Taoma.

Others yet include Peter and Paul Okoye, Innocent Idibia, also known as TuFace, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, Michael Ajereh (Don Jazzy) and Yemi Alade.

A former Director-General, Bureau for Public Sector Reforms, Doctor Joe Abah; Kiki Mordi; and actors, Yul Edochie and Uche Jombo, Feyikemi Abudu, Olorunrinu Oduala, Pamilerin Adegoke, Japhet Omojuwa, Ayo Sogunro and Deji Adeyanju, were also listed in the suit.

But in a tweet, Wednesday, Nov 11, 2020, Aisha, in apparent mockery of the development that many Nigerians have also described as an insult to their sensibilities, asked her #EndSars team mates on Okeke's list what colour of aso ebi they should wear for the court appearance.

Her Words: Hello #EndSarsList team mates. What colour of aso ebi our we sewing for our court appearance? We should do a Jerusalema dance after the court hearing. #BlameGovernment.

In his supporting affidavit, Mr. Okeke had claimed that the defendants, using twitter and internet web sources, played active roles in the #EndSARS protest, which later became violent and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 97(2) of the Penal Code Act, C53 laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

No date has been fixed for the hearing of the suit, even as social media users have however lambasted the the so-called complainant, Okeke, and also the government which they claimed must have sponsored him just as they did the hoodlums to discredit the peaceful #EndSars protest
