Pere, the third Head of House for Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eye season, has removed Whitemoney from the kitchen for a week and the latter’s fans are enraged.
On assuming the role of HOH, Pere had intimated his assistant, Maria, that he intended to keep Whitemoney, who has been the house’s regular cook for two weeks, out of the kitchen.
“I’m against the idea of one person cooking for everybody for the entire stay. It’s not logical because that creates a ‘you all would need me’ or ‘you all have to need me’ mentality, which is very detrimental. It is horrible and I don’t like that,” he said.
He also said that while he recognised Whitemoney’s role in the kitchen as a good strategy, he was not going to allow it.
“That’s why I must do everything I can to have him not be in the kitchen all the time. I can cook,” he continued.
Calling together the housemates on Wednesday evening, Pere declared that he was removing Whitemoney from kitchen duty.
“I’m about to cut you some slack,” he said after Whitemoney confirmed he had been cooking since the show started.
So from now till Monday, somebody else will be in charge of the cooking,” he continued.
Commending Whitemoney for his hardwork, he further said he was against the idea of someone holding the “kitchen monopoly” during the show.
In reaction to the HOH’s decision, Whitemoney’s fans took to social media express their displeasure.
@Itschuey on Instagram said, “Pere feels cooking is part of Whitemoney’s strategy but he’ll leave before my White money.”
@itsKachi_Lynn also said, “To me I think it will be sad when Pere finds out that the more he tries to make Whitemoney irrelevant (cause he thinks the kitchen is the only thing making him relevant), the more relevant he becomes.”
@Lav on Twitter said, “I wasn’t WM’s fan but now because of Pere, I will support Whitemoney like there’s no tomorrow.”
“Pere removing Whitemoney from kitchen duties will only generate more fans for WM but I won’t blame Pere sha, it’s a game and not a family union. If he thinks that’s WM’s strategy, it’s a nice move on a game level but this won’t stop WM from wining the show.” @ManlikeIcey tweeted.
@OmoyiboIvory wrote, “It was just yesterday I was telling my friends that I’m now liking Pere o, cause he brings drama but there is different between hate and drama. I can’t support hate.”
