Labour and Employment Minister and former governor, Anambra State, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Chris Ngige, lives by example.
He's a medical doctor, his wife, Evelyn, is a medical doctor.
No big deal?
Big deal is that his only daughter, Azuka Marilyn, is now a medical doctor.
That's no big deal?
Okay.
She just graduated from the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi Araba, Lagos.
That's the big deal.
Ngige's two boys are also medical doctors and one has graduated (one soon to graduate) all from Nigerian Universities.
Yes, children of most public officers are abroad. Their parents regale us with pictures of their children's graduation from abroad.
Dr. Azuka Ngige and her parents took their own pictures locally - local doctors, you may say, but this is exemplary, if you ask me.
Congratulations to Dr. Azuka Ngige. We fondly called you Bungus. We can now call you 'Dr. Bungus'.
I used to carry you between 2003 and 2006. Today you could ask me to remove my clothes if you need to examine me.
That's life.
The young shall grow.
Your Excellency, you have made a bold statement with this.
