The Vice Presidential Candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 elections, Mr Peter Obi, has expressed shock over the death of Mrs. Ezeife Njideka, wife of former governor of Anambra State and prominent Igbo leader, Chukwuemeka Ezeife

Obi, in a Condolence Message made available to the Press, expressed sadness over the former First Lady's death. He said the vacuum created by her death will surely be felt by many.

Commiserating with Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Obi encouraged him to remain strong in the seemingly turbulent times in life. Obi urged him to accept his beloved wife's death as the will of the Almighty God, who alone has the power to give and take life.

"On behalf of my family, I sincerely condole with our former governor and elder stateman, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, over the loss of his beloved wife. One cannot question God in such seemingly turbulent times as this. But we must anchor our hope in the resurrection of the dead, as I pray God to comfort you and the entire Ezeife family", Obi said.

He prayed God to grant eternal rest to the deceased.

Similarly and in another development, Obi, revealed how saddened he is also by the deaths of Mrs Evelyn Ifeyinwa Magulike and Mrs Nkiru Gloria Okeke, who were both Permanent Secretaries of Anambra State Civil Service, and served in such capacity under his administration, when he was the Governor of Anambra State.

Obi, who attended the burial ceremony of Late Mrs Evelyn Magulike at Abagana on December 15, 2021, described both Mrs Evelyn Magulike and Mrs Nkiru Okeke as hard-working and dedicated civil servants who gave their best to their jobs and contributed positively to the growth of civil service in the State.

"I met both Mrs Evelyn Magulike and Mrs Nkiru Okeke as Permanent Secretaries when I assumed office as the Governor of Anambra State. I worked closely with them and can attest to their dedication and commitment to the growth of the State by discharging their duties effectively.

"As Permanent Secretary, I specifically recall Magulike's contribution to the Ministry of Finance under which she worked. She worked closely with Mrs Obinwa the then Accountant General of the State at the onset of my effort to restructuring financies of Anambra State, to ensure that the State is financially stable and viable. Her absence will surely be felt", Obi mourned.

Obi prayed God to comfort their bereaved families and all those who mourn them, and also prayed for their eternal rest.
