Inauguration Slap: Ebele Obiano explains her side of the story

L-R: Ebele Obiano and Bianca Ojukwu

Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano has spoken out following her fight with Ms. Bianca Ojukwu at the inauguration of Charles Soludo as the governor of Anambra State.

Speaking about the events of March 17, Ebele said she had left her seat to greet Bianca but the latter reacted to her greeting by slapping her.

According to a statement released by Ebele Obiano's spokesperson, Chidiebele Obika, the wife of the former Governor of Anambra State said all she did was approach the former beauty queen for their usual friendly banters only to be slapped and pushed by her.

She wondered what brought about "so much anger and hate" that would cause a former diplomat to be unable to "manage herself in public".

In a Linda Ikeji report, Mrs. Obiano stated that she didn't bother returning the slap but instead walked away in utter bewilderment.🤔🤔🤔

That report, don’t forget, is Mrs Obiano’s account of the incident, just as the ‘Chief slapper’, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, had earlier narrated her own account via a television report.

However, there’s another account which unfortunately, or otherwise and with the advent of social media, was watched by the whole world - the amateur video. Though the incident from the video may not have been very clear, actions portrayed were slightly different from the accounts of the two women involved.

In the amateur video clip, apparently taken with a phone camera by one of the guests on the occasion, the two highly placed women that ought to serve as role model were seen engaging in fisticuffs after the wife of the former governor did some catwalk straight to where the widow of Ikemba Odumegwu Ojukwu was seated, bent to obviously engaged in some kind of verbal exchange and the next thing the whole world saw was the show of shame.

The two women went for each other’s throat, in a manner of speaking, until they were separated by some members of the audience who were totally shocked by the display.
