The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has assured the Labour Party that it would provide all the documents it requested for to prosecute its case.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, made the assurance during a meeting with the Labour Party’s legal team at INEC headquarters, today, March 12, 2023, in Abuja.
Writing on INEC Facebook page, the INEC boss said: “INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately. We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.
The Labour Party’s Legal Team was at the INEC HQ to discuss modalities for obtaining the documents.
Recall that LP went to court immediately, challenging the results of the February 25, 2023 election, where INEC declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, winner.
