The Gombe State Transition Management Committee has tasked all Permanent Secretaries and overseeing Directors of various ministries, departments and agencies in the state to ensure that government business does not suffer during the period of transition from outgoing administration to the incoming one.

Chairman of the committee, Dr. Ibrahim Jalo Daudu, in a press statement, said the committee after an interactive meeting with the PermSecs and Directors, took certain decisive measures.

According to him, issues extensively discussed revolved around handover reports submitted by various ministries, departments, and agencies, and measures that needed to be taken to ensure that MDAs resubmit robust and detailed reports were identified.

A major objective of the interface, he said, was to provide permanent secretaries with an overview of the responsibilities and duties of the Transition Management Committee, as well as to inform them about the roles and responsibilities expected of them during the transition period.

He explained that the committee emphasized to them that they have to put a great deal of effort into their dual roles as acting chief executives and accounting officers of the MDAs so as to make sure the government business doesn't suffer during the period of transition.

While assuring the permanent secretaries about the readiness of the Transition Management Committee to work assiduously towards addressing the multifarious challenges facing their MDAs, the Committee appealed for continuous cooperation of the permanent secretaries and overseers throughout the transition period.

The Gombe State Transition Management Committee was constituted by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, as a means of facilitating a smooth and effective transition from outgone administration to the new administration.
