BREAKING: Nigeria to face hosts Cote d'Ivoire in Group A of 2023 AFCON


Nigeria has been drawn against hosts Cote d'Ivoire in Group A of the 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 

The 2023 AFCON is scheduled to be the 34th edition of the biennial African association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and will be hosted by Ivory Coast for the second time

The tournament is set to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024, with 24 teams participating in the final tournament, including Ivory Coast, who qualified automatically as hosts


The opening match will feature the hosts, Ivory Coast, against one of the Group A opponents they will play against

The top two teams and the four best-ranked third-placed teams from the six initial groups will advance to the round of 16, with quarter-finals, semi-finals, one match for third place, and the final to follow

The Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan will host the final on February 11, 2024.

Also in the group are Equatorial Guinea and  Guinea-Bissau.
