Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has joined other South-West governors to visit his Ondo counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu.

The meeting was held on Tuesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Other governors in attendance were Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Seyi Makinde (Oyo) and Biodun Oyebanji.

This was disclosed in a statement by Akeredolu’s Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde.

Olatunde said the governors discussed national and other issues affecting the region and the people.

However, Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, was conspicuously absent.

Adeleke’s absence may not however be unconnected with his presence, same day, at the mega rally of the PDP governorship candidate in Kogi state for the off circle election on Nov 11. Adeleke is campaign chairman of the PDP governorship candidate, Dino Melaye, and he was present on the occasion to flag off the rally.

At the Ibadan meeting, however, Akeredolu who is also the chairman of the South-West governors, thanked his colleagues “for their solidarity,” and “harped on continuous collaboration among the South-West States.”

On his part, Governor Makinde said the governors in the region are supporting and praying for Akeredolu.

The meeting comes six weeks after Akeredolu returned to the country from Germany after being absent from Ondo for about three months.
