The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Ltd. has assured the public that there are no plans for an upward review of the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

In a statement released by the company's chief corporate communications officer, Olufemi Soneye, NNPC Ltd. urged Nigerians to disregard unfounded rumors and cautioned motorists against panic buying.

The statement also emphasized that there is presently ample availability of PMS across the country.

This assurance comes amidst a report that the company had clashed with petroleum marketers over the removal of petrol subsidies.
