Super Eagles winger Moses Simon, a 30-year-old native of Benue State, was recently celebrated by the governors of Benue, Kaduna, and Plateau states.
Simon, who helped the Nigerian team win a silver medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, was recognized for his contributions to the states’ image and for his philanthropic efforts.
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State thanked Simon for showcasing the state's potential during the tournament.
Born to Benue parents, Simon began his career at Golden Boot Academy in Jos, a city in Plateau State.
Simon, who was also born and bred in Kaduna, was welcomed by Governor Uba Sani, who expressed gratitude for his efforts to empower youth through his Simoiben Academy.
The Plateau State governor, Caleb Mutfwang, also honored Simon, praising his performance with the Super Eagles and thanking him for being a faithful servant to Nigeria and an adopted son of Plateau State.
Simon's philanthropic endeavors include providing boreholes for the Obagaji Agatu community in Benue State and constructing a road and drainage system in his hometown.
Simon started his career at Golden Boot Academy in Jos.
