The Director of Public Affairs at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Reuben Muoka, was recently recognized with the esteemed 'Distinguished Spokesperson in Technology Award' by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in Abuja.
The NIPR National Spokesperson Summit provided a significant platform for promoting dialogue, innovation, and collaboration aimed at advancing the field of Public Relations in Nigeria and beyond.
This event, organized, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) under the theme "Change Narratives, Change Society," celebrated journalists and Public Relations professionals, who excelled as spokespersons in their respective fields.
Dr. Reuben Muoka's career trajectory have seen him lead the Special Duties Department, thus overseeing the International Relations Unit, Emergency Communication Centres Unit, Public Private Partnership Unit, and Security Services Unit of the Commission in 2021. His exceptional performance led to his promotion to Director of the Department.
Muoka’s diverse skill set in traditional journalism, public relations, integrated marketing communications (IMC), corporate communications, and people management prompted his redeployment to head the Public Affairs Department of the NCC.
This role tasks him with managing the image and visibility of Nigeria's telecom regulator, leveraging his extensive experience to enhance the Commission's public goodwill and reputational assets.
Dr. Muoka is a respected member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), a full member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (mnipr), and an associate member of the Registered Practitioners of Advertising (area) under the regulation of the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).
