Dr. Solomon Arase, the chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), and a retired Inspector General of Police, has emphasized that training and human capital development will be the cornerstone of his administration.
This statement was made during his meeting with Alhaji Sabiu Abubakar Bello, the Assistant Director of Research and Documentation at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja.
During the meeting, Dr. Arase declared his intention to train as many staff members of the PSC as possible, a commitment to staff development that underscores his belief that investing in the skills and knowledge of the Commission's workforce is crucial for enhancing the organization's overall performance and effectiveness.
In a press release signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations unit of the PSC, Arase said he believes in training and human capital development and noted that staff of the Commission currently on strategic trainings across the country are pathfinders of a new Police Service Commission anchored on staff development.
The PSC chairman said he is a product of self development and will do everything possible to inculcate in the staff of the Commission the spirit of a desire for self development.
He said he will continue to explore more strategic training opportunities for staff of the Commission.
Alhaji Abubakar Bello had donated some books to the Commission's library and expressed his genuine attraction for the PSC chairman and what he has done for the country in the area of security management. He said he was delighted to formally meet him in person and thanked him for investing in human development which he believes will be more harnessed through books and journals.
