…On the occasion of the signing of the MoU

In a significant move towards advancing Nigeria's digital capabilities, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, alongside Dr. Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), have sealed a strategic partnership with Nokia Solutions and Networks Nigeria.

This collaboration aims to empower young Nigerians with the latest 4G/5G radio and transmission technologies through specialized training programs at the Nigerian Communications Commission’s Digital Parks.

According to a press statement by the NCC, Nokia Nigeria is set to establish a cutting-edge 5G/4G test lab, utilizing their state-of-the-art radio and transmission technologies, an initiative that aligns with the shared vision to enhance the skills and capacity of Nigerians, providing them with the necessary expertise to thrive in the dynamic telecommunications sector.

In line with the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy's objective to promote digital literacy and cultivate a pool of technical talents nationwide, Nokia Nigeria will introduce an Entrepreneur Learning Programme. This is expected to deliver top-notch vocational training to 200 Nigerian students selected from various regions across the country's six geopolitical zones.

This partnership, Newsmart gathered, signifies a significant step towards fostering innovation, knowledge transfer, and skill development in Nigeria's digital landscape, paving the way for a more technologically empowered future.
