NNPC Ltd sets the record straight on Lagos depot fire, ensures uninterrupted supply

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has issued a statement to clarify the recent fire incident at a tank farm in Marine Beach, Apapa, Lagos.

Contrary to initial reports, the fire occurred at a depot owned by HOGL Energy Ltd (Honeywell Depot) and not at any facility belonging to NNPC Retail Ltd, the corporation said.

In the press release signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi O. Soneye, NNPC Ltd confirmed that the fire, which has been successfully extinguished, was caused by a spillage of petroleum products within the tank farm's premises.

Furthermore, NNPC Ltd emphasized that normalcy has been restored, with loading activities resuming at NNPC and other depots in the vicinity.

The company reassures the public that the incident will not disrupt the supply and distribution of petroleum products across the country.
