In a bid to address the state of the nation and the plight of the poor, Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 election, has embarked on a series of strategic meetings with prominent figures in Abuja.
Expressing his unwavering commitment to national peace and progress, Mr. Obi aims to foster a Nigeria that prioritizes the welfare of all its citizens and accelerates poverty alleviation efforts.
During his visit on Monday, May 13, 2024, Mr. Obi engaged in discussions with key personalities, including former Vice President and 2023 PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and the ex-governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido.
At the center of discussion during each of these visits, according to the press release signed by spokesperson of the media unit, Dr Yunusa Tanko, was the state of the nation and how to reduce the suffering of all Nigerians, irrespective of class and location.
In particular, Tanko said, the desperate condition of the downtrodden in our midst was highlighted.
Of particular interest and emphasis in these discussions was the worrisome situation in the Northern parts of the country, he said.
