Benin Republic stuns Nigeria in FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers

Not the start Nigeria would have hoped for at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan. The Super Eagles are trailing Benin Republic in their FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers after a disappointing first half.

Raphael Onyedika had given Nigeria an early lead in the 27th minute, but Benin Republic fought back to draw level and now lead through goals from Jodel Dossou and Steve Mounie.

The second half promises to be an exciting contest, with Gernot Rohr, the Nigerian coach, looking to turn the tide in favor of his team.

The match is still very much alive, and the Super Eagles will be looking to mount a comeback in the second half. The fans are eagerly anticipating the outcome of this crucial encounter.
