Eid el-Kabir: Gov Inuwa calls for continuous prayers for peace in Nigeria

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has called for continuous prayers for the peace, prosperity, and development of Gombe State and Nigeria. 

In a felicitation message to the Muslim Ummah in Gombe State and across the globe on the occasion of this year's Eid el-Kabir celebration, the governor emphasized the importance of unity and harmony in achieving these goals.

In his message, Governor Inuwa Yahaya emphasized the significance of Eid el-Kabir, which symbolizes the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son Ismail as a test of faith. He urged Muslims to emulate the Prophet's devotion and selflessness, and to continue praying for the well-being and progress of their communities.

The governor also extended his best wishes to the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid el-Kabir, expressing his gratitude for their contributions to the development of Gombe State. He encouraged them to continue their efforts in promoting peace, unity, and harmony, which are essential for the growth and prosperity of the state and the nation.

Overall, Governor Inuwa Yahaya's message highlights the importance of unity, selflessness, and continuous prayers in achieving peace and prosperity in Nigeria.

He noted the essence of Eid el-Kabir as a time for sacrifice, sharing, and caring, urging the faithful to emulate the spirit of obedience, love, and resilience exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and upheld by Prophet Muhammad (SAW). 

He used the occasion to encourage the people not to lose sight of the festival's teachings of selflessness, love, and obedience to Almighty Allah's commands in spite of the socio-economic challenges currently facing the country.

According to him, “Although this year’s celebration comes at a challenging time, we must not forget the valuable lessons of Eid el-Kabir."

He then expressed gratitude to traditional rulers, community and religious leaders as well as the people of the State for their continued support, reassuring them of his administration’s commitment to implementing policies and projects that will drive socio-economic progress. 

“We remain resolute in our determination to execute people-oriented policies and programmes for the betterment of our dear state," he assured.

Governor Yahaya also stressed the importance of security and urged citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could threaten peace. 

He affirmed the government’s responsibility to protect lives and property and pledged continued support for security agencies saying, "Government will not abdicate its primary responsibility of ensuring the safety and security of our people."

The governor also extended his congratulations to the Muslim pilgrims performing Hajj, wishing them a successful and rewarding pilgrimage.
