In a proactive measure to maintain the peace enjoyed in Kotonkarfe and its surrounding communities in Kogi Local Government Area, the Kogi State Government has announced a ban on all forms of procession in the area.
The ban, which is aimed at curbing plans by some elements to disturb the peace of the ancient town, was announced by His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the state governor.
In a press release signed by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, Hon. Commissioner for Information and Communications in the state, Ododo emphasized the administration's commitment to peaceful co-existence among all Kotonkarfe people and assured that his doors will always be open to listen to complaints and grievances rather than resort to violence.
The decision to impose the ban was taken after receiving security reports indicating potential threats to the peace in the area. The government believes that this measure will help to prevent any disturbances and ensure the continued harmony in the region.
The ban is effective immediately, and all forms of procession are prohibited in Kotonkarfe and neighboring communities until further notice. The government has urged all residents to cooperate with the decision and maintain the peace that has been enjoyed in the area.

1. Acting on security reports in order to maintain the peace enjoyed in Kotonkarfe and its environs in Kogi Local Government Area of the State, the Kogi State Government hereby announces a ban on all forms of procession in Kotonkarfe and neighboring communities.
2. The proactive ban is aimed at curbing plans by some elements in the area to disturb the peace of the ancient town.
3. His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo reiterates his administration’s commitment to peaceful co-existence among all Kotonkarfe people and will always leave his doors open to listen to complaints and grievances rather than resort to violence.
4. We urge all concerned to strictly abide by the ban as violators will be treated as enemies of peace and the State. The decision of the State Government is aimed at protecting the rights of the Kotonkarfe people, and indeed all Kogites, to peace and security.
5. We urge law enforcement agents to enforce the ban in accordance with the laws of the land. Kotonkarfe people should also be committed to peace and harmony as the Government is prepared to protect them from violence.
