Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has given his 28-year-old daughter, Nike, a one-year ultimatum to find a partner and get married.
The governor made this statement during a Q&A session on Nike's Instagram page on Saturday.

During the session, Nike asked her father how he felt about her not being married yet at the age of 28. In response, Governor Adeleke jokingly told her that she had one more year to tie the knot, emphasizing that she was not getting younger.

“I am now 28 and I am about to be 29. How do you feel about me not being married yet?” she asked her dad.

In his reply, the governor told her he was giving her “one more year” to tie the knot, adding that she was not getting younger.

“Better start getting ready to get married. That is the next thing. You think you are young? I am expecting all those your toasters, better bring one so you can come and tell me dad this is the one I am going to marry,” he said.

“Do you know that at the age of 27, 28 I got married and I had your brother Adesina? You are now 28, I am giving you one more year.”

Adeleke has served as Osun governor since 2022. He contested in the Osun gubernatorial election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and triumphed over Adegboyega Oyetola, the incumbent governor who defeated him in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election rerun.

He was the senator who represented the Osun-west senatorial district from 2017 to 2019.

Adeleke is married to two wives, Ngozi and Titilola. He is a father to eight children including singer B-Red. He is also an uncle to Afrobeats star Davido.
