President Bola Tinubu's attempt to mount a parade vehicle during the Democracy Day celebration at Eagle Square in Abuja on Wednesday turned into a moment of concern for many after he tripped and fell.
The incident, which has gone viral on social media, has sparked concerns among netizens despite being described by the Presidency as a "mild misstep."
According to reports, the President approached the vehicle shortly after arriving at the venue, but lost his footing momentarily as he was about to board the parade vehicle. He was quickly assisted by his aides and has since resumed duties at the ongoing ceremony.
The Presidency, through Special Adviser to the President on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, downplayed the incident, stating that it was a minor mishap and that the President immediately continued with the ceremonial rounds without any issues.
“Mr. President missed his step while climbing into the truck at the June 12 Democracy Day celebration and tripped. It was a mild misstep. He immediately went on with the ceremonial rounds. No issues,” Olusegun wrote on his social media handle X.
However, the footage of the incident has raised concerns among many, who are still discussing the incident on social media platforms.
