Zenith Bank's first female GMD, Adaora Umeoji, assumes office

New GMD of Zenith Bank, Dr. Adaora Umeoji

Dr. Adaora Umeoji, the newly appointed Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, has officially taken over her duties at the bank's head office in Lagos.
The development was announced through a video shared on the bank's Facebook page on Monday.

The caption accompanying the video read, "Dame (Dr.) Adaora Umeoji OON, Group Managing Director / CEO, Zenith Bank Plc, arrives Zenith Bank Head Office in Lagos."

This marks a significant milestone for the bank, as Umeoji becomes its first female MD.
According to a statement by the company's secretary, Michael Otu, Umeoji's appointment took effect on June 1, succeeding Dr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, whose tenure expired on May 31.

Umeoji has been with Zenith Bank for over two decades and was October 28, 2016, appointed Deputy Managing Director. With over 30 years of banking experience, including 26 years at Zenith Bank, she no doubt brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role.
