Team USA secured a stunning victory in the women's 4x400m relay at the Paris Olympics, clinching their eighth consecutive gold in this event with a time of 3:15.27, just shy of the world record.
Gabby Thomas, who ran the third leg, celebrated her third gold medal of the Games, having previously triumphed in the 200m and 4x100m relays.
This remarkable feat positions her as the only track and field athlete to earn three golds at the Paris Olympics, solidifying her elite status in athletics.
Born December 7, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, Thomas is a distinguished American sprinter specializing in the 200m and 100m events.
She attended Harvard University, earning degrees in neurobiology and global health, while also excelling in track.
She made her Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, winning bronze in the 200m and silver in the 4x100m relay.
Now pursuing a master’s in public health at the University of Texas, Thomas has surely achieved significant success, including three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, thus joining an elite group of athletes in addition to her academic qualifications.
