The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has initiated a partnership with the Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to ensure the safe production and distribution of goods and products for the public.
During a courtesy visit to the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Gombe, Muhammed Alhaji Bukar, the Gombe State Coordinator of SON, made the appeal for this collaborative effort. This move aims to bolster public safety by ensuring that all goods and products meet stringent safety standards.
The State SON coordinator, who led his management team during the visit, informed the State Commandant that the visit was to foster a good working relationship with the Corps.
He sought for an enhanced synergy with the NSCDC in the operations of the organisation for enforcement, market survey and substandard monitoring to safeguard the public.
He then commended the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for adhering to the ethics of their profession.
In his response, the Gombe State commandant of NSCDC, Muhammad Bello Muazu, promised the SON coordinator, a better and renewed synergy to achieve their mandate in the State.
While appreciating the coordinator's visit, Mohammad Bello assured the SON that his doors are always open for the needed security backup from the Corps.
