Her sons, Chris Larkin and Toby Stephens, announced her death, stating she was surrounded by family in a London hospital. 

Smith leaves behind two sons and five grandchildren, who are heartbroken by her loss.

Renowned for her Oscar-winning performances in ‘The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie’ and ‘California Suite’, she captivated audiences for over eight decades, becoming a beloved figure in British cinema and theater.
