Florence Otedola, widely known as DJ Cuppy, has introduced a scholarship program aimed at supporting African students at New York University.
The initiative, named the ‘Cuppy Fund,’ was announced on her Instagram account, where she expressed her pride in launching this financial assistance program.
Cuppy stated, “So PROUD to launch the Cuppy Fund for African students at New York University! 💜🎓🕊️ @cuppyfoundation @nyusteinhardt.”
An accomplished academic, Cuppy graduated from King’s College London in 2014 with a degree in business and economics and earned a master’s in music business from NYU in 2015.
She also holds a degree in African studies from the University of Oxford, which she completed in 2022, and recently finished her fourth degree at the London School of Economics.
In addition to her educational achievements, Cuppy has made significant contributions to philanthropy. She founded the Cuppy Foundation in 2018 and has raised substantial funds for various initiatives, including over N5 billion for the “Save the Children initiative” in Nigeria.
In 2014, Cuppy was the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in Durban. That same year, she launched Red Velvet Music Group, a London-based music management and content production company.
Her efforts have earned her recognition as an ambassador for the Lagos SDGs Youth Alliance.
