NIN-SIM Linkage: NIMC ensures smooth operations ahead of September 14 deadline


The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has assured the public that all services related to the National Identification Number (NIN), including enrollment, verification, authentication, and data modification, are operating smoothly. 

This assurance comes as the deadline for the NIN-SIM linkage, set by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), approaches on September 14, 2024.

The NIMC has confirmed that its over 10,000 NIN enrollment centers across Nigeria and in the diaspora are fully operational and ready to serve the public. Nigerians and legal residents can visit any of these centers to enroll and obtain their NIN, ensuring they meet the requirements for the SIM-NIN linkage before the deadline, a press release signed by, Kayode Adegoke, Head, Corporate Communications of NIMC, explained.

The press statement NIMC also revealed that any applicant, Nigerian and legal resident that wants to modify his or her NIN data can do so through the NIMC Self-Service portal - self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng (Terms and conditions apply) 

It states further that NIN holders and applicants can make enquiries on NIN enrollment centres, processes and procedures for NIN Data modifications, NIN Verification issues and any other enquiries, via - www.nimc.gov.ng.

The Commission thus reaffirmed its commitment to Zero tolerance for all forms of extortion and unethical practices, insisting that NIN enrollment is free! 

“Any issues bothering on extortion of applicants or any form of unwholesome practices can be escalated to nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng. Mobile No-07002255646,” the statement said.

NIMC reaffirms its commitment to provide excellent and world-class identity management services.
