In a strategic move, which the Presidency claims is to enhance communication efficiency, President Bola Tinubu has restructured the State House media and communications team.
The re-designation, according to a press statement signed by Mr. Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, involves Mr. Sunday Dare, hitherto Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, who is now Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.
The other is Mr. Daniel Bwala. Announced last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, Bwala is now Special Adviser, Policy Communication.
These appointments, along with the existing role of Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, underscore that there is no single individual spokesperson for the Presidency, Onanuga said in the press statement.
Instead, all the three Special Advisers will collectively serve as spokespersons for the government.
In other words, the restructuring introduces a collective spokesperson model, with all three Special Advisers, including Bayo Onanuga, serving as joint spokespersons for the government.
“This approach aims to ensure effective and consistent dissemination of government policies and decisions,” the statement concludes.
