Was Marketing Maven Folake Ani-Mumuney’s career halted by lavish party scandal?

Folake Ani-Mumuney

Folake Ani-Mumuney, a distinguished figure in marketing and corporate communications, has seen her illustrious career take an unexpected turn.

Known for her expertise with top brands like British Airways and Dangote Group, she was recently and allegedly asked to resign from First Bank, where she served as Global Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications.

Another version though has it that she retired from the job after 15 years of meritorious service to the bank.

But from the version that claims forced resignation, it is alleged that the resignation followed a lavish send-off party for former MD Adesola Adeduntan, which bank chairman, Femi Otedola, deemed extravagant amid efforts to reposition the bank after a major fraud scandal.

The send-off party held at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos, was said to have gulped hundreds of thousands of Naira.

So while it is still unclear if Ani-Mumuney’s resignation is directly linked to the party, reports quote insiders as saying that Otedola believed it was “insensitive and wasteful” to throw such a lavish party when the clear direction and mandate of the bank is to recapitalise and reposition the institution from excesses of the past management.
