In a dramatic turn of events, controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has voluntarily surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.
This development follows his declaration as a wanted man by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly leading a violent attack on government officials.
Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Portable’s self-surrender in a text message on Wednesday to Punch, stating, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up”.
The incident that led to Portable’s wanted status occurred on February 5, 2025, when he reportedly assaulted officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise.
Witnesses claim Portable arrived armed and accompanied by nine thugs, attacking the unarmed officials who were attempting to perform their duties.
Despite his claims of undergoing psychiatric treatment and being a “madman,” the Ogun State Police have dismissed these assertions, emphasizing that he remains a wanted individual.
Following his repeated evasion of police summons, authorities obtained a court order for his arrest.
