Nollywood is in mourning following the death of actress Pat Ugwu, who passed away at the age of 35.
The news was shared on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, by her colleague, Emeka Okoye, in an Instagram post.
He shared a flier containing details of her funeral arrangements while expressing his sorrow over Ugwu’s death.
He described the “unusual death” as “frightening”, praying for God’s protection over his colleagues, particularly those close to him.
“Rest in peace sis. Pat Ugwu. @patpat_ugwu so we no get to work again? Death whyooo? God please. Rest in peace, Pat. May your soul rest in the bosom of the Lord,” he wrote.
“God please protect all my colleagues, especially those I am close to. This unusual death is frightening. I proclaim life to everyone close to me this 2025 in the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.”
The cause of death is, however, unknown.
According to the flier, Ugwu’s funeral will commence with a wake ceremony on February 6.
Some colleagues also took to the post’s comment section to pay their last respects while others expressed shock at the news.
In his tribute via Instagram, Kevin Mike wrote: “Chai, just woke up this morning to hear the death of one of our crew and casts @patpat_ugwu. Rest in peace, dear.”
Destiny Etiko mourned Ugwu saying “Jesus noooooo.”
Nkechi Blessing also expressed her shock asking “Which kind rough play be this?”
