Senate President Godswill Akpabio recently visited Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.
The visit was disclosed in a statement by the minister’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka, on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
Olayinka wrote, “The Uncommon Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during his visit to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, in his residence today.”
This meeting comes as President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the state assembly.
Notably, Tinubu’s declaration did not address Wike’s actions in the crisis, sparking criticism and calls for him to be held accountable.
Akpabio’s visit, therefore, highlights the complex political dynamics at play, with many questioning why Wike’s role in the crisis remains unaddressed.
The agenda of the meeting remains undisclosed.
