The eagerly awaited book, Leadership in the Nigerian Civil Service, penned by Dr. Goke Adegoroye, a retired Permanent Secretary and the pioneering Director-General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, is scheduled for launch on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.
The prestigious event will take place at the Rotunda Hall of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This significant occasion will be graced by the Vice President of Nigeria, alongside other prominent leaders and dignitaries from the nation’s public service sector.
The launch ceremony will be chaired by His Royal Majesty Oba Olu Falae, CFR, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, adding further distinction to the event.
According to a press statement signed by Mr Japh Nwosu, former Federal Permanent Secretary and Chairman, Public Presentation Planning Committee, the book promises to offer invaluable insights into effective leadership within Nigeria’s civil service, making it a must-read for public servants, policymakers, and anyone interested in governance and administrative excellence.
This new publication chronicles Dr. Adegoroye's experiential knowledge, encounters, challenges, and triumphs in the public service, offering valuable insights and reflections on leadership in Nigeria's civil service over the past five decades.
As a renowned expert in public administration and governance, Dr. Adegoroye has authored several authoritative books on good governance and leadership in Nigeria's public service.
The book launch promises to be a significant forum for public administration practitioners, public servants, and scholars to engage with the complexities of leadership in Nigeria's civil service. Its release has been strategically timed for the mid-term of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration with a view to offering useful tips on how to strengthen governance effectiveness.
The event will also feature keynote addresses by H.E. Kasshim Shettima, GCON, the Chief Guest of Honour; and Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, who is the Special Guest of Honour, while the Book Reviewer is Professor Victor Ayeni, a renowned international public administration expert.
Public presentation of the book will be done by distinguished guests, among other related activities at the event.
