Big Brother Naija recently, specially on Monday, August 18, 2025, after the head of house defence game, paid a touching tribute to three beloved former housemates who have passed away: Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada, and Rico Swavey.
During the tribute, the current season’s contestants gathered as images of the late stars were displayed on the screen. A solemn minute of silence followed, providing a moment to reflect and honor their memories.
Francisca Owumi, the vibrant and free-spirited runner-up of the inaugural 2006 season, was remembered fondly for her infectious energy and love of dance. She sadly passed away in 2024 after a courageous battle with illness.
Joseph “Joe” Ada, also from the 2006 season, was commemorated following his death in May 2023, after facing health challenges.
Lastly, Rico Swavey (Patrick Fakoya), a creative and calm presence from the 2018 Double Wahala season, was honored after his untimely death in a car accident in 2022.
The tribute served as a heartfelt reminder of the lasting impact these stars had on the BBNaija family and its fans.
