The late son |
Chioma Adeleke, wife of Afrobeats superstar Davido, has returned to Instagram after a three-year hiatus with a deeply emotional tribute to their late son, Ifeanyi.
Tragically, Ifeanyi passed away on October 30, 2022, after drowning in a swimming pool at Davido’s home in the exclusive Banana Island area of Lagos.
Chioma’s post came shortly after her white wedding with Davido and featured a photo of her bridal bouquet alongside a touching picture of Ifeanyi. This gesture symbolized his special presence during her wedding day.
In the moving caption, Chioma lovingly remembered Ifeanyi as her “best friend” and reaffirmed the everlasting place he holds in her heart.
“My best friend walked me into forever. Ify you’re on my mind everyday and you live in my heart always and forever. Love mummy,” she wrote.
This marks Chioma’s first post on the platform since October 20, 2022, when she shared a celebration for what would have been Ifeanyi’s third birthday.
Davido also recently revealed how the loss of Ifeanyi inspired him to become a better person.
The singer proposed to Chioma in 2019, but their relationship faced challenges in 2021 amid allegations that the singer was involved in another relationship.
However, in March 2023, the singer disclosed that he and Chioma had officially married.
The couple welcomed twins in the US in October 2023. They held their traditional wedding in June 2024.
